Your education off-campus can be as important and exciting as it is on-campus. The SCHC offers national and international trips that you can use to earn credit toward your degree and help to fulfill your Honors College requirements. Honors travel courses, led by USC faculty members, are offered almost every semester. One popular study abroad model combines a spring preparation course with a second summer travel course that allows for further exploration of the topic.
In May 2007, Honors College students studied history in Morocco, explored the Holocaust in Poland, and participated in a service-learning program with high school students in Romania. Travel courses for summer 2008 include:
Imagining a Nation: Irish Culture and Literature
Mexican Immigration and Health
Music and Culture in Northern Italy
Nuclear Reactor Physics and Lab (Germany)
Silk Road (China)
The bottom line is that you shouldn’t miss out on these fun and educational trips! If you want to learn more, please contact me. My door is always open.
