Service-learning is a new initiative for the Honors College that will provide Honors College students an opportunity to combine academic instruction with active participation in thoughtfully organized community service.  Service opportunities are tied to academic courses and address concerns of the community thereby enhancing individual social awareness and civic responsibility.  Students make a commitment to a service project or to complete a specific number of hours of service work in addition to academic work that incorporates reading, reflection and analysis.

As we recruit faculty, develop courses, and make connections to the communities outside of the University of South Carolina, we will post information here concerning these opportunities. Be sure to check back with us!
