Patsy Tanner has worked for the Honors College for 34 years, ever since it was an Honors Program and not yet a college. She has received awards for her Volunteer Service and has been in the top five finalists for USC’s employee of the year award. When Patsy started working for the Honors Program in May of 1974, the program had a staff of two for 350 students. Today the Honors College boasts a staff of 16 for approximately 1200 students.
As the business manager, Patsy facilitates the financial transactions of the Honors College. If you have a scholarship through the Honors College, you might have spoken with Patsy to find out how to renew the scholarship. If you have been on a Study Abroad or taken Caught in the Creative Act semesters, you have been directly affected by Patsy’s work with the University’s travel and purchasing departments. She also works with students who are awarded travel support and thesis grants.
Retired "one week day a week, and afternoons after 3pm," Patsy enjoys spending time with her family, going to the beach, playing tennis, and watching her grandson, Tanner, grow cuter by the minute!
