Scholarships for freshman students are available through the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships.  All students who apply to the Honors College will be immediately eligible for University scholarships and undergraduate awards. Your application for admission to the Honors College also serves as your application for all University scholarships and undergraduate awards given to incoming freshmen. Applications are due by November 15 each year. In addition the South Carolina Honors College offers a limited number of scholarships for both entering and current students.

Carolina and McNair Scholars

The Carolina and McNair Scholar Scholarships are awarded by the University.  The Carolina and McNair Scholar Programs support the University of South Carolina’s most prestigious awards for incoming freshmen. Recent scholars received funds to substantially defray the costs of tuition, room, board and fees. In addition, they were provided further benefits including a laptop computer with a webcam and assistance with on-campus parking. All Carolina and McNair scholars are offered automatic acceptance into the Honors College and an enhanced University experience which includes a faculty mentor, formal dinners and cultural events, and personal attention courtesy of the Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs, thus creating a total-care package for each of these gifted students.

Your Honors College application serves as your application for the Carolina Scholar and McNair Scholar Scholarships.

Visit the Office of Fellowships and Scholarship Programs for more information on the Carolina and McNair Scholars.
