We are officially halfway through Honors summer orientation! So far, around 280 rising Honors freshmen have eaten a special Honors lunch in the Hollings Special Collections Library before entering the sweet air-conditioned hallways of Harper College in order to learn all about the Honors College and the different opportunities that will soon be available to them, such as free printing, great cookies, #noparents, cool courses and all the different ways to fulfill the beyond the classroom requirement. I have had a great time personally sharing my own study abroad experience from my time in Japan earlier this summer on an Honors Maymester, and I love seeing the new students already beginning to plan their own trips abroad. Orientation as an Honors Ambassador has been a great way to learn what students are passionate about and share some of my personal knowledge and experiences to help get my new classmates excited for the new opportunities. I can't wait to meet the students in the last six sessions!
