MPA student, Mason Thomas, was recently appointed by the President of the South Carolina
Senate to serve on the Southern Legislative Conference’s Human Services and Public
Safety Committee. Staff from states from the south, including Thomas, recently attended
a workshop where they received briefings and participated in roundtable discussions
about issues important to children’s safety and well-being, including foster care,
sexual exploitation, school climate, and behavioral health.
Thomas is currently employed as the Director of Research for the Senate Family and
Veterans’ Services Committee. On behalf of the students and faculty of the MPA program,
we congratulate Mason Thomas on his accomplishments and his commitment to public service!
