George Fetner manages the recruitment for the graduate programs of the School of Information Science and the School of Journalism and Mass Communications in the College of Information and Communications. He works with faculty and staff to create a recruitment strategy to meet college enrollment goals. He attends recruiting events on and off campus and meets directly with prospective graduate students regularly.

Background

Most recently, Fetner was the assistant director of admissions for the Full-time MBA Programs at the Darla Moore School of Business. He traveled regularly in and outside the U.S. to recruit working professionals to the top-ranked International MBA and the One-year MBA programs.

Prior to his time at the Moore School, he worked as assistant to the director of music admissions in the USC School of Music. Primarily recruiting undergraduates, he helped implement recruiting strategy and promoted the school's community music programs, traveling to local and regional fairs to connect prospects with faculty.

Personal

Fetner continues to balance his career in higher education with a wide array of musical endeavors. He holds two degrees in music Composition (BM and MM) from the University of South Carolina and his award-winning works have been performed in the US and Europe. He's released five studio albums and continues to write and perform regularly in the Southeast, especially as the leader of the rock group George Fetner and the Strays.
