Participant Profile
SAVVY accepts a diverse mosaic of around 75 performing/visual artists and arts administrators.
A Diverse Powerhouse Community
Artists and organizations often seek inspiration from others who look and think a lot like them. Flute players study with flute teachers; dancers attend dance festivals; museums examine other museums as role models.
While this discipline-specific approach makes sense from a certain perspective, we believe the richest dialogue and solutions emerge when diverse populations engage. SAVVY intentionally “curates” a highly diverse roster of participants to create our powerhouse community. As a result, attendees join an incredibly rich network.
Who will be there?
The SAVVY participant roster balances:
- Roles. Arts practitioners, administrators, and educators.
- Disciplines - Music, dance, theatre, puppetry, circus, visual arts, media arts, creative writing.
- Age/experience levels - Emerging artists to established professionals (age 18-70), students to organizational leaders.
- Backgrounds - Various races, ethnicities, religions, and sexual orientations.
Why should you get SAVVY?
Some people attend SAVVY with hopes of turbocharging their career. Others come to develop strategies for making their home organization more effective. Still others want to experience our unique brand of innovation training while making a positive difference. All share the desire to positively impact a complex and quickly changing world.
