Melissa works with students who are enrolled in the following programs: PhD, DNP, Nurse Executive Leadership Program; MSN, Nursing Administration and MSN, Nursing Informatics. As the academic advisor for these programs she helps answer their questions regarding registration, progression, deadlines, fees, etc. When students are accepted into their program, she sends them a welcome letter and assists them as needed to complete the necessary paperwork to be eligible for registration. She also manages other graduate advisors and provides support as needed to all graduate programs in the College of Nursing. Melissa also providing enrollment data for reporting purposes and enters data for tracking purposes. She has been with the College of Nursing since March 2016 and has worked at USC since 2005. Melissa says, “I enjoy helping people and I get to do that every day in my job. I enjoy talking with students and assisting them in their decision making processes regarding enrollment. I have tremendous respect for nurses and feel it is a real honor to work with nursing students to help them complete their educational goals.” When she isn’t working, Melissa enjoys volunteering with her church, reading and walking for exercise. She and her husband have a 17-year old son, who keeps them busy attending his robotics events and planning for his future college selection.
